The exact same DS and GBA games that are played on the current Nintendo DS can also be played on the DS Lite. However, the pink DS lite and all other colors features new modifications on its hardware designed for the improvement of the gaming experience as well as with the usability of the system. The LCD screen of the DS Lite also features a new technology which now offers brightness of up to 4 levels. When set at the highest brightnes level, the DS Lite is said to be 5 times as bright as the original Nintedo DS model. The manufacturer also trimmed down the size of the pink DS and other colors of the DS Lite console which made it virtually pocket-sized.
