The travel power pack that is a perfect and practical idea that is almost worth purchasing this pack just for it. It is very handy with its small size, very practical and even has a clip to attach it on your belt or another bag. While I was quite disappointed with some of the items that are included in the pack, I still love that I can have all items matching for my pink DS.

Nintendo DS Lite Travel Power Pack

The case itself offers just the enough space to store your pink DS console, spare stylus, screen protector and cloth, earphones and the game cases. The case has a thin strap where you can hold it securely.

The earphones are surprisingly good considering the overall price of the package. When the earphones are plugged in, other cannot hear your pink DS. This will prevent you from annoying other people on the train, in the bus or virtually everywhere whenever you are playing. The earphones also have a built in volume control which makes it very convenient for the users.

On a bad note, the game cases were not perfect. They are a little hard to get opened during the first few times and you need to place stickers on them in order to identify what game is inside the case. However, they can really be a great help if you want to take your DS out when you are travelling.

Another issue about the travelling pack is the screen protectors. Some users find these protectors a little problematic. However, when I have used them, they worked like a charm and I was still able to touch my DS’ screen without any issues.

The travelling pack for my pink DS includes a case, headphones, a mobile charger, screen protectors and game cases. All these items come in pink color that truly matches my pink DS. Here is my comment on each of the items included on the pack:

Pink DS Travelling Pack

The Case: It has the ample space that would fit in my pink DS Lite console, game cases, spare stylus and earphones – all the items that you really need to take out with you when travelling. The case also has a thin strap. It could have been better if the strap was a bit sturdier but generally, the case is able to do its job.

Mobile Charger: This is what I consider as the redeeming part. If you are someone who travels a lot, this is the perfect buddy for you. With the mobile charger, you can be assured that you will have enough battery life for your DS until you finish what you have to do and save it before you lose any data.

Headphones: They are pretty good considering the price that you actually paid for the whole package.

Game cases: They are in itself pretty good. They might not be made of very good quality plastic materials but they can offer protection to endure the everyday wears and tears.

Screen Protectors: I really have not tried these. Some people say that it is not worth using these screen protectors. I have also heard that placing the screen protectors on your DS will void your warranty; however, I could be all wrong about this.

The pink DS Lite was a redesign of the original Nintendo DS model. The former was manufactured to be sleeker than the latter. DS Lite consoles are about 21% lighter from the DS model having a weight of 218 g or 7.69 oz. It also has 42% lesser volume than the original DS model. DS Lite units were also equipped with extended battery life which lasts around 15 to 19 hours when used on the lowest brightness setting, while the old DS’s battery will only last for about 10 to 14 hours in the same conditions. The original DS model offers its users to turn the backlight on and off in the main menu. However, this feature has been removed in pink DS Lite units and other colors available for the DS Lite. DS Lite consoles are designed in such a way that they will be more resistant to shock, with brighter top and touch screens having brightness of up to 4 levels.

The pink DS Lite is just one of the available colors for the DS Lite. Other colors include Enamel Navy, Polar White, Red, Onyx, Gloss Silver, Ice Blue, Cobalt, Green, Turquoise, Crimson and Metallic Rose. DS Lite units come with a larger and more considerable stylus, which makes them easier to hold and use. The stylus is placed adjacent to the power switch, which makes it easier to reach for right-handed users, however, this design s not favorable to those let-handed consumers. The D-pad size of the DS Lite models was also made smaller to 18.6 mm across, while the buttons A, B, X, Y are still left unaltered.

The exact same DS and GBA games that are played on the current Nintendo DS can also be played on the DS Lite. However, the pink DS lite and all other colors features new modifications on its hardware designed for the improvement of the gaming experience as well as with the usability of the system. The LCD screen of the DS Lite also features a new technology which now offers brightness of up to 4 levels. When set at the highest brightnes level, the DS Lite is said to be 5 times as bright as the original Nintedo DS model. The manufacturer also trimmed down the size of the pink DS and other colors of the DS Lite console which made it virtually pocket-sized.

The pink DS Lite is just among the other colors that the consumers can choose from. The Nintendo Ds Lite consoles are made slimmer, more lightweight and brighter as compared to the former Nintendo DS. DS Lite consoles are designed aesthetically sleeker while taking some of the styling cues of the Game Boy Advance SP. The pink DS Lite and other available colors of the gaming console appeals to a wider range of commercial audiences.

Its makers announced the Nintendo DS Lite more than a month before it was first launched in Japan on March 2, 2006. There was still an overwhelming demand for the original Nintendo DS console model at that time that is why the official release day was delayed. The gaming console was also officially released in Europe, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand and defined areas in the Middle East, South America and in East Asia. According to an official statement of Nintendo, the sales of the DS Lite consoles have reached to about 75.74 million units around the globe as of December 31, 2008.

The pink DS Lite and all the other colors of the gaming console are all capable of receiving Wi-Fi- signals from other Nintendo gaming systems and as well as from Wi-Fi- access points.

I bought this Hori case for my daughter and her pink DS. She thinks it is a great idea to have this game holder than having to carry around her pink DS along with loads of single game cases. The case serves its purpose of keeping the games in one place and it does the job very well.

Hori Licensed officially Case for Pink DS

In general, this great little product appears to be very well made. It feels sturdy and looks neat as well. It is also very compact and keeps the Nintendo game cards safely. It is easy to open, not like those difficult single game cases. You can also easily insert your games and get them out again without the hassle. It is designed nicely with the middle section made up of a white plastic insert and the outer leaves are transparent except for 3 clear panels on each side which allows you to see the faces of your games peeking through the plastic casing even when the case is shut. The case is also capable of storing of up to 6 game cards.

Overall, this case is a nicely built product, which seems like it will last for a long period of usage. At this period in time, the plastic case for pink DS appears to be a great storage solution. It slips perfectly neatly into my pink DS case. Great value for your hard earned money, great storage! However, I feel somehow bad that they do not make this casing available in either different color or a more neutral color.
